Our history

Owners Ross and Maria Gallo moved to Whitchurch-Stouffville in 1969 from Eglington and Mount Pleasant Ave. where they operated their own grocery store. They were the first grocery store to display fresh fruit outdoors and to offer gelato in North York. They received an award for their variety and quality of goods and exceptional service. Ross was determined and decided to invest in property further North and to take a leap of faith. He was a visionary, and he and Maria risked everything to move to Stouffville with their children, Joseph and Adele. He considered opening a garden centre, but was offered a career in real estate with a local real estate firm while Maria worked for the Credit Union. Ross soon became a Top Producer and became well-known for his knowledge and skill set. He had a passion for farms and vacant land, as well as homes in town. He loved helping others and wanted people to prosper. He and Maria lived by the golden rule, "Treat others as you would like to be treated." They worked very hard to take care of their clients and decided to open their own Real Estate company in 1975. Together they opened Stouffville Real Estate Ltd. and became a successful working team with a great understanding of real estate. Each having their own talents that complimented each other, Maria has a legal understanding, and is the broker, while Ross possessed a great insight to the value and potential of properties as a sales representative. They were pioneers in the real estate industry, learning from their experiences and navigating through with some of the most difficult, turbulent market conditions. They rose to the occasion, mastering their skills and providing honest and expert service to their clients.

Ross and Maria worked tirelessly over the years and continued to grow with over twenty sales representatives. As people began to recognize and refer to the Gallo's, they changed their company name to Gallo Real Estate Ltd. so the public would know who stood behind the sign. Forty-nine years later, while other companies have come and gone, Gallo Real Estate Ltd. is still on the same corner working for you.
